Well Site Geologists & Mud Loggers perform their function at a well site in 12 hour shifts from within a trailer at the site. They describe rock sample cuttings that circulate during the well drilling process. They also maintain gas monitoring equipment that collects Total Gas and Gas Chromatography information for the exploration company’s geologists. A background in geology and basic computer, mechanical & electrical skills are required to create the mud logs and keep all monitoring equipment and trailer facilities functioning during the well drilling process. We employ people for both full-time and part-time positions.

This job can be anywhere in the Rocky Mountains. The time on each job varies based on how long it takes the exploration company to complete the drilling of the well. The job requires a lot of scheduling flexibility from the employee; however it enables the freedom from being tied to a fixed work schedule. This job is perfect for individuals that love outdoor activities such as camping and travel throughout the Rocky Mountains.
